Description
Mabon, is typically celebrated on the day of the autumn equinox – when day and night become equal in length once again, and we tip over into the darker half of the year. It is the second (and most abundant) out of the three harvest festivals on the wheel of year, and revolves around celebrating and enjoying the fruits of hard labor. It is the time between summer and fall when we slowly get ready to cozy up, hibernate and return to indoor life.
Nature strips on its most colorful dress – painting the leaves in auburn, red, orange, and brown – and there are many treasures to find, that can be worked with in witches’ kitchens and homes.
This festival is all about gratitude, living in the moment, slowing down to enjoy what has been achieved, harvest, and abundance.
